Today is the day we all have been waiting for. It is the day God offers us a reset by his mercy and grace. In this sermon, we take the perspective of someone sitting in the sanctuary as Isaiah 61 is read to us. We wrestle with the weight of Jesus’ words: “Today, this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” We discusses what those words meant to the people then and what they mean to us now. Its implications are further reaching and more costly than we’d expect.
